Protect My People is a death in service insurance comparison service. We help you to compare quotes and find cover to help protect your staff.
We provide an online personal service, designed to obtain the basic details we need to then be able to provide you with a range of tailored quotes from our panel of insurance providers.
Getting quotes with us is quick and easy. We present you with all the relevant information and prices from the providers, most of who return quotes within two working days. This allows you to truly compare which policy is right for you and enables you to protect your employees in a matter of days.
Death in service insurance, also known as group life insurance, is an insurance policy organised and paid for by your company that insures for the death of your employees and is paid to their loved ones.
In the event of an employee’s death, it helps provide financial support by paying a lump sum cash payment to their loved ones. The death doesn’t have to take place at work, or even be work related, to pay out but the employee must still have been on the payroll and within your employment.
It’s regarded as an attractive employee benefit, firstly to employees because the cash lump sum payment is usually not subject to inheritance tax. Secondly, to your company because the policy premiums can be treated as a business expense.
Protect My People was launched in 2017 as the UK’s first group life insurance comparison website, dedicated to helping companies like yours find the right insurance policy to protect your best asset – your people.
Protect My People is a trading name of Investment Discounts On Line Ltd. We’ve been providing individual life insurance comparison since 2001, helping 100,000s of people to find cover. We are regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA number 197451).

There are a couple of ways you can get in touch with us:
We don't offer advice on the suitability of insurance products for your company. We will provide you with relevant information about group life insurance and display quotes (including key features and benefits) from the insurance providers on our panel.
We present this information in a clear and simple format to help you to make an informed decision on which scheme best suits your needs.
We provide impartial, unbiased quotes without charging a fee for using our service. However, when you buy a policy from an insurance provider, they pay us a commission amount based on a percentage of your total premium.
Keeping your details safe is of key importance to us. Our systems meet the highest security standards and are protected by a series of firewalls and application filters. With your permission, your details are passed to the providers on our panel so they can give you quotes. We do this securely using encrypted network connections.
We work with a range of market-leading insurance providers to return death in service quotes that are tailored to your needs and based on the details you provide to us.
We don’t search every provider in the market as some opt out of all comparison sites, but through the providers on our panel we ensure our service is accessible to small to medium businesses. We firmly believe death in service insurance should be open to all companies, whether to protect a company of two employees or a company of 250.
Yes, we are covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS). This means if we can't meet our obligations in respect of any claims made against us, the scheme may pay out compensation. This will depend however, on the type of business and circumstances of the claim being made. Generally small companies as defined in the Companies Act are covered, subject to some exceptions.
